Feeding Directions

·         Avoid digestive upsets by replacing the old feeding program gradually, over a 7- to 10-day period.

·         Feed horse at same times each day, at least twice per day, and preferably 3 or 4 times per day (Horse Kwik® is very convenient for automatic feeders).

·         Slow down overeager eaters by spreading Horse Kwik® pellets thinly over the bottom of a larger feeder, or by placing large, smooth stones in your feeder.

·         1-3 lb/head/day long-stem hay may be fed to reduce boredom.

·         Supply your horse with a ball or other toy (strong enough to stand up to a horse's teeth and hooves) if it has no hay to munch.

Monitor your horse's body condition to determine whether you should be increasing or decreasing feed portions.
