- Calving to Breeding: Period from the time the cow calves until she becomes bred (day 0 to day 90).
- Late Lactation: Period from the time the cow becomes bred until the nursing calf is weaned (day 91 to day 200).
- Mid-Gestation (dry period): Period of time from when the cow's calf is weaned until 45 days prior to the cow calving again (day 201 to day 320).
- Pre-Calving: Period 45 days prior to calving (day 321 to day 365). Limiter feeds are not recommended for pre-calving cows.
