I had been looking for another broodmare with a great pedigree, when I found a great mare in the NJ Camelot "kill pen", destined to ship to a Canadian slaughterhouse the following day. During her short career she had earned over $125,000 on the track--but had a career-ending injury to her right fore in a 17 length victory. She had rain rot and a body condition score of 2-3 per my vet. I purchased her in July 2010, and four months later she is spectacular! Since I already had a broodmare on Vitality Mare and Foal, and she needed all of the nutrition she could get, I placed her also on the Mare and Foal following a consultation with my vet. I am looking at some great Kentucky stallions for her for the 2011 season. Wouldnt it be a great story if she was the Dam to the next triple crown winner

Hi, Just wanted to tell you my story. I primarily raise Quarter horses and have always fed mine Safe Choice. I was the first person here in Custer County to request Safe Choice from our feed dealers. I have fed it since it came out and was available. However, this summer i rescued 2 horses and both were fed all the hay/grass alfalfa -that they could eat and a mixture of safe choice with veggie oil. The mare quickly gained weight and is looking awesome. I also rescued a American Saddlebred from the Killbuyers in PA and have been feeding him safe choice and he has gained over 200lbs since August. I have also added Empower to his feed for the last month and he has put weight on pretty well. I am going to switch over to Compete as i have some younger horses that would benefit from it.

I have an arabian, hackney pony, belgiun, fresian, and a mini. All my horses are on safe choice. I love your product. I have been researching different feeds for my herd and yours by far is the greatest. It keeps my arabian calm, my 12 yr old has shown him in 4h now for 3 yrs. It makes their coats shinny. I get questions on how my horses coats and manes look so good and shinny. I say the simple trick is feed good food like Safe Choice. It made my Belgiun mane grow. All my horses tails are so long that they lag behind them in the pasture. I do nothing to them. I dont braid them or put them up.I see people at the shows paying all this money for extentions for their horses tails and mine have it naturally. I know its the feed because b4 I fed Safe Choice their manes/tails werent as long.

I have been using Vitality10 for about 5 yrs. My horses range in age from 5- 28. All have done great on the feed. They have no trouble holding their weight, even with the small amount you seem to be feeding. The 28 yr. old has no trouble chewing it and since we started using it, she acts like a 10 yr. old. She still runs an 18.0 on the barrels! Everyone remarks on how beautiful my horses coats are also. Love the product!

I love the Life Design Compete feed. My horse Cody is in the best shape of his life at the age of 14 and he looks better than ever, because of Nutrena Feeds. After every ride, I feed him Life Design Compete, and I do this knowing that he is getting what he needs and that he will have a quick recovery from his workout. I'm not messing with whats working for him!

I compete in a monthly playday and horseshow in my area. I enter 10 events at the playdays - cloverleaf barrels, pole bending, straightaways, arena race, stake race and several other events. The next day, I compete in 10 events at the horseshow - halter, western pleasure, horsemanship, western riding, trail, hunt seat equitation and hunter under saddle. In early 2010, I switched to Nutrena Life Design Compete feed after talking with a Nutrena representative at our local Tractor Supply. After starting this feed, my horse Spirit improved so much. This year I won high point playday and high point horseshow over all age groups. My horse Spirit also won the senior horse (horse over 5 years old) with the most points.

I switched my appaloosa gelding onto this grain after trying many differnt brands of grain. Most of the grains I tried made him very hot and very hard to handle. you Safe Choice grain has worked the best on him. He is not hot and he is holding his weight very well. His hair is in better shape that I have ever seen on him. He is even growing a tail(which is huge since he has the typically appy rat tail).

My Walker Mare became very ill with a respiratory infection of unknown etiology about 3 years ago. Towards the end of her illness she foundered. I thought our riding days were over. She was very tired all the the time and gimpy for about a year. I tried using Allegra low carb feed and she really didn't make much of any improvement, especially in her energy. My Vet. suggested trying Safe Choice so I did. She has been on it ever since. She has steadily improved over the last two years with Safe Choice. She has energy, we ride the trails, sort calves, ride parades and ride in a Mounted Patrol. We are having fun again. Thanks to Safe Choice, I have my girl back again. Deb Akers

I feed Safe choice to both my 20 year old retired hunter who has Cushings and Massive allergies to just about every thing on the planet. she does great holding her weight and doesn't get hives or cough on Safe Choice. I also feed safe choice to my 6 year old Hungerian Warmblood who went from 15.3hands and about 1100 lbs at 3 1/2 years old to 18 hands and 1650 lbs at 5 1/2 years old. Safe choice kept his weight on through this amazing growth and still let him "keep his brain" . No one needs a young horse THAT BIG high on grain!!!

We have been breeding Arabians for nearly 40 years and have bred National and International Champion Arabians, American Miniatures, and Italian Greyhound dogs. Recently, we had one of our pregnant pure Polish broodmares diagnosed with EPM (Equine Protozoal Myeloencephalitis). She could barely stand, let alone eat. She lost quite a bit of weight until she was able to eat again, but the Nutrena XTN really helped her to regain condition in a hurry! We were feeding our entire herd the XTN until the recent significant grain price increases, but have kept this mare on XTN. Thanks from ASA Farm

Back in October of '09 we rescued 2 horses. When we got them we did not think they would survive the winter. Both horses weighed around 500lbs. They we literally walking dead. They had no life left in their eyes. They couldn't hold their heads up. Sonny the sorrel is 16 hands and looked like a worn out old dairy cow. Timmy being a little smaller looked a little better, but him being older was in worse shape. They looked so bad it hurt to look at them. We were told about Nutrena Senior and Safe choice feed. My dad started them on a heavy diet of both feeds. Within 6 months both horses had reached "normal" body weight. They are both doing excellent. It has been very expensive but completely worth it. They will live the rest of their lives with us.

April 2010, our mare, Katy, became foundered. She could barely walk and after having her trimmed, we were told that it could be several months before she would be walking. I immediately started to research food for hoof growth and foundered horses. We began feeding her Nutrena SafeChoice, as directed, with hay. In June she was walking without pain and in August, she was running. Thank you Nutrena for this product! Katy is back to her "old" self and aside from the TLC she received, Nutrena is to thank!

Hello, I have a paint horse that I have owned since he was weaned. I have always had him on premium feed. He would eat all that was given to him but gradually, not the norm from my experience with horses. He never got excited at feeding time and appeared to take it or leave it. I switched all my guys to SafeChoice. What a difference, now he is the loudest at the barn at feeding time and can't wait to eat his grain. Makes me happy to see that!! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!!!! By the way, he is extremely handsome and if Nutrena was going to change the design on there bag he would look great on it. What better way to sell your product than with a model who loves your feed!! Ha! Thanks again, Cindy O.

I recently purchased a Friesian/Arab weanling, and he became very ill and refused to eat for a week. He was not in good condition upon arrival and was underweight too. My vet suggested I use Nutrena Senior soaked in water to force feed him while he recovered (he was given a strong antibiotic and banamine). Today is the 7th day and he has fully recovered. He started to eat the senior feed within one day and I felt very comfortable feeding it 4 times a day. He has gained back weight in miraculous time, loves the feed and his overall condition has improved so much in such a short time. I am very impressed with this feed. I use Safe Choice for my other horses, and it's good to know what kind of results can be achieved nursing a sick horse back to health with Nutrena's high quality feeds.

I have a 25 year old thoroughbred mare, Jazz, that was sooo hard to keep weight on. I've tried senior feeds, supplements, vet visits, extra hay, more feedings, pasture time.......you name it I've tried it to no avail. Recently, we moved her to a barn where the owner SWORE by Nutrena Compete and raved about the health all the horses at her barn acquired. So, curiousity got the best of me and Jazz was put on Compete. Literally, within the first month, she had picked up weight, her coat gleamed, and she had loads more energy. I now swear by Nutrena Compete as well and couldn't thank you, the company, AND my barn owner enough for such an amazing product! Jazz says thanks a million and yes please on seconds!

I am an endurance rider and as such my horse has nutrition requirements that cannot be met with hay alone and thus requires a "super food" supplement. I have been searching for a complete feed supplement that will safely meet his needs. My horse is very, very picky about what he will eat. I have 5 opened bags of other brands of "super food" that he won't touch. Then I discovered Safe Choice. He loves it! Now he gets the nutrients that he needs. Anybody want 5 other bags of barely touched "super food?"

My Saddlebred mare is an easy keeper, so I was concerned about NSC levels in her food. I started her on another company's Low Starch feed. After having her on that food for two years I noticed her general condition declining. She was losing muscle tone and just didn't have that healthy fit look about her. Although she has free access to grassy pasture and gets hay twice a day, I was becoming concerned that the food wasn't supplying her with whatever nutrients she needed to maintain a healthy appearance. So I decided to switch to Nutrena Lite Balance. She's been on Lite Balance for the last year and 1/2, and it's made all the difference in the world. She's healthy, shiny, has her muscle back, and is her old gorgeous self again. My horses are my proof that Nutrena is the quality choice!

My husband, Cody, fits halter horses professionally and we also have a breeding program here at Copeland Show Horses. We've used the Nutrena Feed, XTN, for approx. 2 years now. We have absolutely fallen in love with the results we have seen from this product! This year alone, Cody has had a Res. World Champion 4yr Mare at the Palomino World, a AQHYA World Top Ten finish (6th place), two Top Ten finishes at the AQHA Select World as well as 2 AQHA Select World Champions (World Champ. Weanling Stallion, World Champ. 3yr Stallion)!! We're looking forward to great results @ AQHA World Show in Nov! Nutrena XTN has become a staple in our training and breeding programs. www.copelandshowhorses.com
